Vermentino Nero di Terenzuola is a fresh, lean red wine made from an indigenous grapevine from the Lunigiana, matured in oak barrels and aged in concrete tanks. It has aromas of violets, spices and forest fruits and a delicate, elegant and dynamic flavour. If served slightly chilled it can also accompany fish-based dishes.

Description
The Lunigiana is a borderland spanning Liguria and Tuscany and is enclosed within an area between the Ligurian Sea, the Apennines and the Apuan Alps; it’s an area where viticulture is practised on the natural terraces, and where a certain ability is needed to create wines of character. Just like the Vermentino Nero from the Terenzuola cellars, the fruit of a late harvest that allows the grapes of this indigenous Tuscan variety at the moment of harvest to reveal themselves rich in scents and aromas, giving substance to a wine that is striking for its youthful and spontaneous personality.
This red wine created by the Terenzuola Cellars is a mix of Vermentino Nero, an indigenous Lunigiana grapevine constituting 85% of the final blend, together with a small percentage of other red grape varieties. The grapes grow on vines at an altitude between 100 and 350 metres above sea level, in slaty soil. After the harvest, undertaken by hand in October, the grapes are softly pressed and fermented in open oak barrels; then they follow their own evolution, aging for six months in concrete tanks, until bottled.
The Vermentino Nero produced by the Terenzuola Cellars presents itself to the eye with a red-purple colour. The bouquet is an orchestration of fresh, fruity and floral notes that from the very first contact invites consumption. On first tasting it has a lean and agile body, with a subtlety when elegantly sipped, thanks also to a pleasant freshness. A red wine decidedly particular, which precisely because of its dynamism and elegance is a good accompaniment to fish dishes in the Tuscan tradition: you will be pleasantly surprised.
