Description
Among the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, where the countryside seems to be hand-painted, the Chianti Classico di Rocca di Montegrossi is born, the company’s “flagship” wine. It is a red that smells of cherries, violets and earth warmed by the sun, an immediate reference to the streets between Florence and Siena, to village trattorias and summer evenings outdoors. A bottle that brings to mind the slow pace of a trip to Tuscany.
Grape variety and winemaking
Chianti Classico Rocca di Montegrossi is mainly composed of Sangiovese with a share of Canaiolo, grown on suitable hills around Gaiole. Vinification takes place in steel; This is followed by aging in large barrels and in the bottle, so as to maintain freshness, crisp fruit and structure. In the glass emerge notes of red fruits, flowers, light spicy nuances and a lively acidic shoulder.
Food pairings
Versatile and reliable at the table: perfect with pasta with meat sauce, lasagna, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, roasted white meats, poultry and typical Tuscan cold cuts, as well as gourmet pizzas and legume soups.
Who is it suitable for and on what occasion
Ideal for those who want to discover the classic style of Chianti in an elegant but immediate version, to be drunk with pleasure even today. It is a perfect wine for a dinner with friends, to accompany a Sunday lunch or as an easy souvenir to share of a holiday in the Chianti hills.
