Description
Capotondo is the smiling face of Castelvecchi’s Chianti Classico: a wine that seems to have been born to accompany long dinners with friends, outdoor tables in summer, sunsets on the hills around Radda. In the glass you will find the scent of ripe grapes, roses and violets, and that luminous energy that brings to mind walks through medieval villages and vineyards as far as the eye can see.
Grape variety and winemaking
Capotondo comes from Sangiovese and Canaiolo, grown on marl and alberese soils. Fermentation takes place in tanks with maceration on the skins; This is followed by an aging that combines steel and wood, so as to preserve the fruit and give structure. In the glass it offers aromas of cherry, raspberry, strawberry and currant, with a soft, harmonious sip and fine tannins.
Food pairings
Excellent with pasta dishes with meat sauces, pici with Cinta Senese ragout, white meats, delicate roasts and medium-aged cheeses, as well as Tuscan cured meats and croutons.
Who is it suitable for and on what occasion
Ideal for those looking for a Chianti Classico with an elegant but immediately enjoyable profile, with a perfect balance between fragrance and softness. It is the right wine for a convivial dinner, to remember an evening in a tavern in Florence or to open a bottle that everyone can agree on.
