Description
A few kilometers from the sea, between rows that open towards the brightest Maremma, stands Le Mortelle, an Antinori estate dedicated to coastal wines. Botrosecco is the red that tells the most contemporary side of this land: a Bordeaux blend that was born in Tuscany, where the sun and the sea breeze draw intense and deep scents. It is the wine that brings to the table the memory of the days between Florence and the coast, between visits to villages and dinners of grilled meat and vegetables.
Grape variety and winemaking
Botrosecco is mainly made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, grown in the company’s vineyards in the Maremma. Fermentation takes place in steel with targeted maceration, followed by aging in barriques and tonneaux for about 12 months, which enrich the wine with notes of sweet spices, tobacco and chocolate, without covering the dark and juicy fruit.
Food pairings
Perfect with Florentine steak, grilled cuts of beef, rack of lamb, roasts and game dishes. It also goes very well with aged cheeses and international meat dishes.
Who is it suitable for and on what occasion
Suitable for those who love great reds inspired by the Bordeaux style, but with the Mediterranean soul of the Tuscan coast. Ideal for an important dinner, for a tasting among enthusiasts or to relive at home the experience of a special evening spent in Florence and the Maremma.
