CONTEMPORANEAMENTE. Art, design, craftsmanship and contemporary culture in Via Maggio and the surrounding area.
Designed by the Via Maggio Association and now in its fourth edition, the project sees the participation of more than thirty spaces and galleries, with a rich calendar of events that, in an experimental coexistence with the ancient, will reveal the ‘contemporary culture’ of via Maggio, a Florentine street known throughout the world as the Via degli Antiquari and where in recent years, alongside the historic shops, have arrived art galleries and contemporary design, excellent artisan activities and workshops and where other realities will open soon.
The event, which received the patronage of the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Florence, over the years has seen public participation grow, the number of events scheduled and spaces involved. SIMULTANEOUSLY he proposed and promoted collaborations with important local realities, such as the GPVieusseux Scientific Literary Cabinet, the Institute for Art and Restoration, Saint Mark’s English Church, the Torrigiani Garden floriculturist since 1861, LAO – Le Arti Orafe Jewelery School, famous Florentine school of contemporary goldsmithing, cultural associations of reference in the neighborhood, as well as shops, antique shops and contemporary art galleries in Via Maggio.
